Residential and Community Workers are skilled in providing life and social skills programming, interpersonal communication and the implementation of behaviour management strategies. Our Residential and Community Workers typically have a certificate, diploma or degree related to the field of social services along with additional training that equips them to optimize the personal and social development of those individuals they provide support.
A Residential and Community Worker uses shared life-space opportunities to meet the physical, social and emotional needs of clients. Residential and Community Work work uses strengths-based, needs-led approaches to mediate clients’ presenting problems. A Residential and Community Work practitioner will typically work in a direct person-to-person capacity with clients. He or she will seek to provide a supportive, stable environment in which various social, educational and relationship interventions can take place in the day-to-day living space of the client.
